Picture a sunny backyard, chalk drawings on the pavement, and little hands reaching for a glass that looks like a stack of sunsets—no fizz, no tickly bubbles, just pure fruit magic. This colorful, kid-approved mocktail layers bright flavors into a friendly slush, so every sip feels like a new chapter in a summer story. Parents relax; kids grin; everyone wins.

Theme spotlight: A pop-culture‑style “power-up potion,” but make it wholesome—vivid fruit, zero carbonation, and a texture that’s fun without the fuss.

Think of each layer as a different sidekick: strawberry for sweet tang, mango for silky sunshine, pineapple for tropical zing, and kiwi for a green, zesty finish. By keeping each one thick and spooned in gently, the colors stay stacked like a comic strip—no science degree required. Tip from the snack cart: the colder and thicker your fruit slushes, the cleaner your stripes.

Beyond the wow factor, you’re sneaking in a burst of vitamin C and fiber from real fruit. It’s an easy win for school fairs, birthday parties, or any afternoon that needs a splash of color—minus the buzz and bubbles.

Ingredients

Keep fruits cold for the boldest layers. Divide juices before you start and crush the ice well for easy blending.
  • 150 g fresh strawberries, hulled
  • 150 g ripe mango, diced
  • 150 g pineapple, in chunks
  • 160 g kiwi (about 3 medium), peeled
  • 180 ml apple or white grape juice, divided
  • 60 ml orange juice, no pulp
  • 20 ml fresh lime juice, divided
  • 500 g crushed ice
  • A few mint leaves and extra fruit slices, to garnish

Instructions

Blend one color at a time for thick slushes. Rinse the blender jar between colors and keep finished layers in the fridge if needed.
  1. 1

Red layer: In a blender, combine strawberries, 45 ml apple/grape juice, 5 ml lime juice, and 120 g crushed ice. Blend thick and smooth. Spoon into 4 clear glasses, tilting each glass slightly for a clean slope.

  2. 2

Orange layer: Blend mango with 60 ml orange juice and 100 g crushed ice until thick. Carefully spoon over the red layer, using the back of a spoon held just above the surface to keep layers separate.

  3. 3

Yellow layer: Blend pineapple with 60 ml apple/grape juice, 5 ml lime juice, and 120 g crushed ice. Spoon gently over the orange layer.

  4. 4

Green layer: Blend kiwi with 75 ml apple/grape juice and 120 g crushed ice until vivid and slushy. Top each glass with this layer.

  5. 5

Garnish: Add mint and fruit slices. Serve immediately with wide straws or spoons.

Chef's Tip

For super-crisp stripes, chill each blended layer in the freezer for 5–8 minutes before stacking so it firms up slightly.

Fun Fact

Kiwis were once called “Chinese gooseberries.” Their bright green comes from chlorophyll, and they pack more vitamin C per gram than oranges.
